No mechanic or credit card company stories to regale you with from this past Monday. But I was slightly sick starting on Sunday so I guess that I still had a crappy Monday. (Pun intended. Yes indeed.)

I'm only 3 days away from my next adventure!


p.s. according to WikiAnswers, the word Monday "originates from the Angl0-Saxon monandaeg, "the moon's day". This day was sacred to the goddess of the moon."
Which made me think of the character Moondoggie, from Gidget. Hence the, you know, title.

all aboard!

I spent an enjoyable day with the family. We took my nephew to ride the mini train with the Orange County Model Engineers, Inc. According the their brochure, there are 20,000 feet of track located over 40 acres of property. The property that the small trains run over is simple green grass dotted with trees. It's a no-frills operation.

The train ride was quite and peaceful. I was a wonderful experience and I wished that I lived closer so that I could visit more often.

I'm not sure why, but I am fascinated by people who are transvestites or who are transgendered. I am happiest when I spot a cross dresser who is trying to pass as a man/woman. And when I say "fascinated", I don't mean in a sideshow way. I admire anyone who is willing to take the steps to make themselves happy. But, I just want to be their friend.

Early this morning it rained so hard, I could hear it running off of the roof. I wish that I could wake up to that sound more often.

I'll tell you why I don't like Mondays

Today I had to rumble with my mechanic. He made a supremely stupid mistake and then has tried to play victim when it comes to shelling out the dough to fix his mistake.
Call the waaahmbulance, señior.
Sigh.
It seems that Mondays for me are very bad indeed.
I'm hoping that since next Monday is a holiday, I'll get a breather.

(not so) fantastic, made of plastic

I use plastic sandwich bags every day and I feel so guilty about it. Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternate container? I know that there's Tupperware and all sorts of plastic containers out there, but I wonder if the continued exposure to hot water will be harmful in the long run.
